Gentle, friendly dental care to give your child the best start in oral health. Making every visit a positive experience.

We believe that every child deserves a positive experience at the dentist. At Fareham Road Surgery, our team is experienced in treating children of all ages and we take pride in making dental visits as relaxed, fun and stress-free as possible.
Building good habits early is the best way to ensure a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. We recommend bringing your child to see us from around their first birthday, or as soon as their first teeth appear. Early visits are short, gentle and focused on getting your child used to the dental environment -- there is no pressure and no treatment unless it is needed.
As your child grows, our team will monitor their dental development, check for any concerns, and provide preventive treatments such as fissure sealants and fluoride varnish to help keep their teeth strong and cavity-free.
All NHS dental treatment is free for children under 18 (or under 19 if in full-time education). This includes examinations, X-rays, fillings, extractions and any other treatment your child needs to maintain good oral health.
We are proud to offer NHS dental care for children at our Gosport practice. There is no charge for routine check-ups, preventive treatments or any necessary dental work for eligible children.
To register your child as an NHS patient, simply call our reception team. We welcome new patients of all ages.

Professional fluoride varnish applied to strengthen tooth enamel and help protect against decay. Recommended for children at higher risk of cavities, including those with braces.

Good oral health starts at home. Here are our top tips for keeping your child's teeth healthy and establishing great habits from the start:
We understand that some children (and parents!) feel anxious about dental visits. Our team is trained to work with nervous young patients, using a gentle, patient approach that builds confidence over time.
For first visits, we keep things simple. We might just count your child's teeth, let them sit in the chair, and show them some of the equipment. There is no rush and no pressure -- building trust is more important than any single examination.
You are welcome to stay with your child throughout their appointment. We find that a calm, positive attitude from parents helps children feel safe and relaxed.
If your child is particularly anxious, please let us know when booking so we can allow extra time and prepare accordingly.
Give your child the best start in dental health. Whether you are looking for NHS or private care, we welcome new young patients and are here to support the whole family.
